1. TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1.1 The promoters to this competition are
(Greyhound/Citiliner, divisions of Unitrans Passenger Pty (Ltd), a company duly
incorporated in accordance with the laws of the Republic of South Africa
registered address at (40 Lepus Road, Crown Mines Johannesburg, Ext 8, 2092),
and, (Orlando Pirates Football Club) having its business address at 53 Central
Street Houghton Johannesburg
1.2 All persons entering the Greyhound/Citiliner (“the
competition”) (“the entrants”) agree that the competition rules as set out in
these terms and conditions are binding on them. A copy of these terms and
conditions is available at www.greyhound.co.za or www.citiliner.co.za
2. HOW DO YOU ENTER THE COMPETITION
2.1 To participate in the competition, a participant must
book a Greyhound/Citiliner ticket, and take a “selfie” with their
Greyhound/Citiliner ticket.
2.2 The selfie must be uploaded to Greyhound/Citiliner’s
social media channels (Facebook: Greyhoundsa or Citiliner or Twitter:
@GreyhoundRSA or @CitilinerRSA).
2.3 The participant will then be entered into the
competition.
3. THE PRIZE
3.1 The prize is:
3.1.1 2 tickets to the Nedbank Cup final taking place on
24 June 2017; plus
3.1.2 2 return tickets on routes serviced by
Greyhound/Citiliner within South Africa to watch the game in Durban
KwaZulu-Natal; plus
3.1.3 2 night’s accommodation at The Blue Waters Hotel,
checking in on 23 June and checking out on 25 June 2017; plus
3.1.4 A “meet and greet” with Orlando Pirates Football
Club players on 23 June 2017; plus 3.1.5 Orlando Pirates merchandise; plus
3.1.6 transfers from the hotel to the “meet and greet”
with Orlando Pirates Football Club players; plus
3.1.7 transfers to and from the hotel to the match at
Moses Mabida Stadium
4. CONDITIONS APPLICABLE TO THE PRIZE
4.1 The following conditions apply to the Main prize
4.1.1 Once you have been notified that you have won the
main prize you will be required to be present at a selected Greyhound/Citiliner
outlet to collect your prize.
4.1.2 You must be at the departure point 30 minutes prior
to departure to board a Greyhound or Citiliner bus failing which the promoters
reserve the right to terminate your participation and to redraw a new
participant.
4.1.3 You are obliged to attend the handover of the prize
to you. If you fail to attend the handover you will be disqualified and a new
participant will be drawn.
4.1.4 The prize is non-transferable and may not be
substituted or redeemed for cash
5. COMPETITION DRAW
5.1 Except in so far as is provided for in the Consumer
Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Promotor’s decision is final and no
correspondence will be entered into.
5.2 In respect of the prize the winners will be drawn as
follows: 5.2.1 5 finalists will be drawn countrywide for the main prize 5.2.2
from these finalists, 1 winner will be selected at the end of the competition
as set out in the dates below: 5.2.3 winners of the main prize will be
announced on 19 June 2017 at 40 Lepus Road, Crown Mines, Ext 8, Johannesburg
5.3 Participants and/or prize winners will not be
entitled to claim any royalties or any intellectual property rights from the
Promoter
5.4 Participants will be required to identify themselves
with a bar coded South African ID book or valid passport. Failure to claim the
prize or a refusal or inability to comply with the conditions will disqualify
the prize winner and a new prize winner will be drawn at the sole discretion of
the Promoter.
5.5 Each participant must provide a cell phone number
from a phone that is owned and registered to that person. No person can use
another person’s cell phone for competition entry purposes. If it is discovered
that a participant has entered the competition using a cell phone that is not
registered to him/her, then he/she will be disqualified and the participant
will be requested to return their prize to the promoter. This is to avoid fraud
and ensure compliance with the Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
5.6 The cell phone number of a participant is key to that
participant’s entry(ies), and this number must be a number that is contactable
during office hours. Winners will be contacted only on the cell phone number
they used to enter the competition. No single person can enter the competition
using multiple cell phone numbers. This is to avoid additional fraud being
conducted by multiple SIM card owners and to ensure fairness to legitimate
participants.
5.7 Participants may enter the competition as many times
as they choose over the promotional period to increase their chances of
winning, provided that participants purchase one of the products set out in
clause 1 each time and complete the competition entry process.
5.8 Potential winners may be requested to provide proof
of purchase for the Greyhound/Citiliner service purchased during the
competition period, with a matching reference number to the one used when
entering the competition.
6. THE RULES
6.1 By entering into the “Greyhound/Citiliner/Orlando
Pirates” competition, entrants agree to the rules set out below.
6.2 This competition is open to all South African
residents or South African citizens over the age of 18 years (any persons under
the age of 18 years must have their parent/guardian’s permission before
entering). The following persons are not eligible to enter: directors; members;
business partners; employees; sales agents; advertising agency staff; advisors;
or consultants of Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa (Pty) Ltd
(Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa), its associated companies, service providers
and the immediate family members of these persons (including their spouses,
life partners, parents, children, brothers and sisters) and any other person
who is controlled directly or indirectly by Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa,
as well as the associated companies of entities or persons mentioned in this
paragraph, including holding companies and subsidiaries, their employees,
agents, subsidiaries and consultants.
6.3 Participants or entrants younger than 18 years must
have the consent of their parents or legal guardian to enter the competition.
Where a winner is younger than 18 years, that winner’s prize will only be
released to their parent or guardian.
6.4 The competition will commence on 12 June 2017 and end
on 19 June 2017, both days inclusive. No entries received after 13:00 on 19
June 2017 will be considered.
6.5 At the time when a potential prize winner is
identified, the potential prize winner will receive a call from a
representative of Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa or a partner agency of
Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa on the number used to enter the competition.
Upon receipt of the call the potential prize winner may be required to provide
his / her email address (if available), work telephone number (if available)
and a copy of his / her ID book and / or driver’s licence to a representative
from Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa. At the time of the telephone call, the
potential prize winner may be required to answer several questions about his /
her eligibility and may be required to provide proof of purchase. If a
potential prize winner does not meet the eligibility requirements, the prize
will be forfeited and awarded to the runner-up finalist. A potential prize
winner is not an actual winner until his / her submission is validated and his
/ her documents are completed and submitted to Greyhound/Citiliner South
Africa. In the event of non-compliance with these terms and conditions by the
potential prize winner, the prize will be forfeited and the runner-up finalist
will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to all conditions herein.
6.6 If Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa, the organisers
of the competition and/or the promoters are unable to reach any of the
potential prize winners within 72 hours of their name being drawn, for
whatsoever reason, including incorrect telephone numbers or inoperative
telephone numbers, such winner will be disqualified and a runner up finalist
will be deemed the potential prize winner subject to the terms and conditions
herein.
6.7 Winners are only eligible to win one prize in a
Greyhound/Citiliner competition within a 12 month period following the date the
winner was first contacted in respect of their previous win.
6.8 The eligible winners will have their prizes delivered
to them by a representative of Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa or a partner
agency of Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa based on the information they will
have shared via the above mentioned telephonic conversation.
6.9 The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence
will be entered into.
6.10 Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa may require the
winners to complete and submit an information disclosure agreement to enable
Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa to ensure compliance with these rules. Should
any winner be found not to have complied with these rules, he/she will
automatically be disqualified and the prize will be forfeited. Winners may also
be required to sign acceptance of prizes and indemnity documents.
6.11 To obtain the name of the prize winners (available

6.12 The prizes are not transferable, and no substitution
or assignment of prizes is permitted, but Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa and
the organisers of the competition reserve the right to substitute any prize
with one of comparable value if required (for any reason whatsoever).
6.13 By entering this competition, you authorise
Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa and the promoter to collect, store and use
(not share) personal information of entrants for communication or statistical
purposes. You are entitled to decline any marketing communication by emailing
communication@greyhound.co.za or by 011 611 8000. Any personal data submitted
by you will be used solely in accordance with current South African data
protection legislation and Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa’s privacy policy.
6.14 Winners or participants may be required to take part
in publicity campaigns for broadcast or publishing purposes. Winners or
participants shall at all times be entitled to decline the above request.
Winners or participants that take part in any publicity will not be entitled to
any payment or other remuneration for such publicity or otherwise. All
publicity and other materials will be the sole property of the promoter.
6.15 The organisers of the competition reserve the right
to cancel or postpone the competition at any time.
6.16 Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa reserves the right
to amend the terms and conditions at any time without any notice being given to
the participants.
6.17 No participant shall have any resource or claim
against Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa as a result of: (a) any amendment to
these terms and conditions; (b) Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa’s
cancellation, termination, suspension or postponement of the competition;
and/or (c) Greyhound/Citiliner South Africa’s inability, despite attempts, in
line with these terms and conditions, to reach a participant.
